this is an intersection
the picnic table arranges space
constructs
a room
gravel island between street and railroad
towing enforced at all times
once red now
pink
tow truck gone
fishing
aspens wiggle & shed
orange
empty side of a yield sign gleams
coin struck by sun
crow glide and glare
shadow of north hill on south hill
shrinks to rind
i see a man taking a photo of the sky
his gesture
alerts me
of the rainbow
today my brain is like my mothers’
picking up thoughts and leaving them
in the wrong room
the picnic bench has a driftwood feel
in the distance there is a sign signaling
nearest restaurants, gas,
the next rest
stop
